Hi everybody, I'm looking forward to going to our Casa in Calabria in three weeks time. I will be going on my own this time so I will have to practise my italian and do all the driving!

Hi Everybody, We had a wonderful 3 weeks at our little Casa in Calabria. For the first week we relaxed and enjoyed being in Italy. The next 2 weeks we were D.I.Y.crazy!!

When we booked our flight out to Lamezia we never expected to be mopping up rain inside our Casa!! We arrived on the sat evening and had a drink or two at our fav wine bar on the way home. We even sat outside as it was so warm.

Hi, Having just got back from Calabria and Im driving as normal here in Bournemouth,why do I have such a worry on Italian roads?? Im normaly a good and confident passenger & driver in UK but in Italy im a nervous wreck!!

We looked into "free banking" too and did not find a bank that did'nt charge.We are with Banca Intessa which charges us 10 euro's a month.

Hi there is a new shopping centre in Catanzaro lido called "La Fountaine". This centre has a large Brico as well as several large stores. It is well sign posted when you get into Catanzaro. Happy shopping!!

The Michel Thomas CD's are brilliant, easy to understand and you progress quickley. I brought mine from ebay last year, so have a look on ebay for a bargain.
Ive not heard any thing about stanstead going on strike but I will keep listening out. Like you we want to travel out from stanstead around xmas time & any strike action would not be welcome to say the least!!
We have had our little casa now for just over 2 years & although its used as a holiday home for now we do not have a TV.In fact we dont even miss having one although in England we seem to be glued to rubbish!! When in Italy we stay outside more looking at our view or just sipping the odd glass of wine !We are not going to buy a tv until we live fulltime in Italy. We do have a radio on though thats plays a lot of english music, we try to follow the rapid italian but fail miserably!!!
Ive not tried Alitalia so will give them a go! When Ryanair put back on our Stanstead - Lamezia flights we will of course go with them. I'm not sure where Alitalia go to in Italy, hopefully down to Lamezia. Glad I read your comments about this airline!
