Just how much cheaper us the resident tarrif compared to non resident? I just divided my bill (over two months) by my usage, and arrived at just under 28 cents per kwh.How would that change if I became resident?

I wondered if anyone could explain how to calculate the car tax in Italy, I know it is to do with horse power etc but is there a useful website like our own DVL site which can allow one to find out how much tax is paid on say....

I CERTAINLY HAVE HAD DIFFICULTY GETTING PAINT TO STICK TO MY EXTERIOUR WALLS, EXPENSIVE OR OTHERWISE. I RECKON MORE PREPARATION IS REQUIRED PERHAPS SAND BLAST AND START FROM SCRATCH! ALSO PREFER A BRITISH SPADE.
Oh! and Rachel you can get a form from HMRC which allows you to get your UK rent paid tax free and then fill in a self assessment tax return later on. Otherwise the agent will be legally obliged to deduct 20% automatically and hand it over to George Osborne .

Funnily enough Rachel we are doing just the same as you next week, I wasn't going to rush in to residency etc.
How much of a tax burden would the Italians have if they didn't have such a large black economy then?? What 75%? Sounds ridiculous. I reckon that most of the 'black' money gets spent on consumer goods and basic necessities and therefore just becomes part of the big multiplier effect!! I'd give the 'dole scroungers' bigger benefits and get the economy growing ..spend spend spend, The resulting inflation would soon shrink the national debt Ho Ho!
