We moved into our house in the Val di Vara in November. We signed a contract with Vodafone for 'ADSL tutto flat' which is for local & international calls and Broadband. It is now Feb 5 th and they have still not connected us!

We are setting off in our Hymer next week to start our retirement in Italy.
Can anyone give me a ball park figure for installing a 4 x 8 metre salt water pool please. Moving to Liguria in November and would love a pool but we don't know if we can afford it as we haven't a clue of costs.
We will shortly be paying for our house in Italy and we are trying to find thet bank fwithe thebest euro exhange rate. We have looked at 'World First' but would be grateful if anyone has any other suggestions.
We have just agreed on the purchase of a house, but we did not go through an estate agency. Does anyone have any experience of the buying process please? The vendors are being very helpful as they have sold and bought in Italy before.
Hi has anybody out there had any dealings with 'March Homes Direct'? If so, what are your thoughts on them?
I've just been looking at some property for sale on line and I have found the same property on sale with 3 different estate agencies, one asking €395,000, another €345,000 and third €299,000! That's one heck of a difference! Is this common?
Does anyone out there live in the area between Comano, Fivizzano, Bagnone and Licciana Nardi? It's one of the areas we hope to look at. The property seems to be reasonably priced and the scenery looks beautiful.
Have had lots of people advising us to rent before buying, which is a gsensible idea but we had thought of buying a camper van so that we have the freedom to travel around to look at properties and save on rent. Any thoughts?

Have you retired there?
Hi Brian My Italian is pretty good, almost fluent but a bit rusty. My mother was Italian, a war bride and she spoke no English when she came to England so when I was born I grew up speaking both English and Italian.
My husband and I are at odds at present about where to start looking for a property. We both want to be in Tuscany, but can't afford the more expensive areas. I'm keen on looking in the north, around Pontremoli but he wants to look in the south towards lago di Bolsena, which I know, is in Lazio! Would anyone like to fight the corner for either of these areas. We're planning on coming to Italy in September for about a month on a first real reccie.
Well.... that was going to be one of my first questions! How does the cost of living compare with the UK? I guess it's swings and roundabouts then! We do intend growing some of our own produce. Maybe we should turn vegetarian!... but no, I can't think of Italian food without meat! Sorry all you veggies out there!
