Bloomin' eck!  All the gooduns are going..  Carol's Dave, Jintys hubby, Trulli, Carole B and now poor Fairy... Sad indeed - she had an excellent sense of humour.

Good heavens! I was only reading her blog last month.  http://www.ilpicchiobandblucca.com/blog.html What happened? Was it an accident? How sad.

She hadn't been feeling good and saw the doctor in November and things happened very quickly: diagnosed with lung cancer that had already spread into bones and other places. Decision made to return to UK, Gordon's brother and sister inlaw moved them into their place in Edinburgh, doctor visited and she went into hospital, she had a broken hip as well by then. Se died at their home about two weeks after returning. All very shocking and sad. Funeral was today. Gordon will return to Lucca and make decisions, it has all happened so fast. 

I nether knew her, nor of her but I send my condolences and sympathy to those she leaves behind. May they find the strength to live their lives without her.
