This strawberry cake is served icy cold and makes a fabulous warm-weather dessert. Savoiardi, classic ladyfinger cookies of the Piedmont region, are baked with strawberries, eggs, cream, and a splash of dessert wine to make a deliciously refreshing, light dessert.
It’s much better the next day, so make it in advance. My version tasted just as luscious even three days after I made it. Who knows, it might have been good even longer, but by day three we had eaten it all.
