Hello and congrats! I recently got married and would be happy to offer a few suggestions. It sounds like you need to talk to a lawyer, that does not sound legal or ok at all! Have you talked to anyone?
I would even consider staying overnight in Levanto and visiting the CInque Terre by boat. The crush of tourists have really made visiting a pain but doing it from Levanto or Lerici (where you could park) seems like a better idea to me :).
I think I would go somewhere in Tuscany, Monte Argentario is absolutely gorgeous otherwise Castiglione della Pescaia, there are so many options in Italy!
Ciao Susie, I visited Calabria this summer and had a wonderful trip. As anna says, you have to be kind of aware of where you go. For example, the area around Tropea, but Crotone was a hot mess, very much like she described. Maybe it could have been different if I went with someone from the area, but honestly I wouldn't send anyone there. Your safety will be just fine, people might not be as friendly as you would expect. If there is family nearby, even better... Try and visit Tropea, Scilla, Capo Vaticano, which have beautiful beaches and nice spots.
