It sounds like they are asking you to present the 'certificato di agibilita'...............EVERY house (or so I understand), HAS to have one of these (basically it's a certification from your local comune saying that the dwelling can be 'lived' in by humans !).Again to my knowledge...........one CANNOT sell a property without one of these now...........Good LuckS

Welcome........................What brings you over here?............retirement/work...............escape ?!
I ALWAYS look for your posts....................you are easily the most informed poster here, brava!!
Hi Pauline R.........My personal big issue is what does "everyone pays it unless they have................... retired" mean ?Is this OLD AGE retirement (65 and over) or early retired (60+ like me)?I read somewhere (I think it was on the rubbish tax form) that both parties in the household had to be 65 (or older ) for 'discount'.If you were less than 65years old, AND if you had an income of less than 12,000 euros, this was another 'case for non payment of the full ticket'. What defines 'an income'?......................I live mainly on savings..............is this considered income? Is a UK (taxed there) pension (and small) considered income ?VERY very difficult area.................I think a lot of it is an interpretation by the local Comune...............I went to a commercialista and he told me very clearly EXACTLY what I already knew (as above) and charged me 100euros for the privilege!!! (He said it was 'very complex' you know!!!..............................stung again !)Penny is doing a FANTASTIC job (in my view one of the best things I have followed on this Forum)........well done!!European Union eh ???!!!

Hi FromNowON.............When we bought our house here in Italy we had EXACTLY the same problem!!!We thought originally that it was possibly overloading the circuit (we bought thinking that we had a 6Kw feed), which might have been only the basic 3Kw.We had electricians out and Enel came out and they said no we have indeed got a 6Kw feed EVEN THOUGH the meter suggested only 3Kw....................They said that this was a mis reading !!However, to cut a longish story short(er)...................it ended up being the oven itself, as when we had the smeg engineer out, he said that two elements had fused(?) and thereby creating a short?! Asking why this would happen, he suggested that it is possible that the joints may have dried out (?)............so he replaced the two elements (100eur) and all has been perfect ever since............ voila !!Good luck with yours,S
