I saw this comment from a Californian news item............Emerging Cuisines from Emerging Markets - As the world grows smaller, the selection of cuisines grows larger and guests’ palettes are begging to try new flavours.
It will take a quite monumental event to prise us from our wonderful life and friends here. BUT,................. what/where is the future for the younger generation here ?
Being a full time resident here in Italy, we are having a month or so on holiday in another EU country (not in the UK, our country of origin). Does anybody know what 'travel' related health cover are we 'entitled' to ?

Penny, I am not in either of the areas that you mention, so am a LITTLE bit in the dark...........Also, we are way off our 5 years, so time will tell, the very best of luck with your battle, please keep us informed. I will let you know if I hear anything of value from my area (Macerata), Cheers, S
Sorry but, I think that any case that goes through the court process of the country of the crime should be accepted as valid, 'unsafe' or not. When you think how many unsafe convictions have been made in the UK (and elsewhere), and then there are appeals after appeals ...............hardly worth bothering with a justice system anywhere at times!!Any THEN the courts are sued for millions!S
Where does this end???This crowd(guy).............the kings of the 'no frills, rock bottom' prices have surely just about gone as far as they can.............one now has to pay THEM a fee to enable one to pay THEM to travel!!!!!!!!!Stunning!!How STUPID are 'we' to keep 'just' paying up...................vote with your feet/car/alternative.S
Agreed Gromit..............The packaging may suggest Alice 7meg..............but as you say the distance from 'your' exchange is a major factor in the conection speed, I use http://www.speedtest.net/ to test actual speeds.........I'm not surewhat the Alice answer would be if you asked them what speed is it that you are paying for?!! I suspect they would use a phrase along the lines of 'UP TO 7Mb' Any download speed less than say 600/700Kb you will struggle to get a constant stream and will get a lot of 'buffering'. A dial up connection would be a total waste of time.........S
We get 600ltrs per drop (SO FAR, once per year).................last year 2008, we paid 75c/ltr,................ this year(2008), 66c/ltr, we live outside of a village (just) We use ApiGas.................... Good luck, S

Totally agree................I think the rules and regs here are (at times) stupid..............but they are the rules and regs here............if one doesn't like them.............go somewhere else................Lots of people complain about the world of Gordon Brown(aargh!) and what is wrong there, but ,.......... these same people are likely to be doing those same 'wrong' things here.I feel I TRY to do things 'with a straight bat'.....................but I also understand when people bend the rules 'cos we're in the EU you know!!'It would be nice to have a EU consistency me thinks ?
Wow Arizona.......memories!!!Having visited on a number of occasions, Tempe, Mesa, Scottsdale, McDowell, Phoenix..................I say........... why would you move from there !!?However................living here in Italy , the world is WONDERFUl, it seems like it hasn't quite caught up with ALL of the bad things that are happening in the 'old' world...............(although I think they are probably still to be met somewhere ahead !).It's a bit like stepping backwards 30/40 years, where the family unit is 'king', and as such people tend to totally respect their elders (especially outside of the major cities), life is one long holiday (for us), and, once one moves here, you think, why didn't I do this earlier !!??Rose tinted spectacles aside........................the legal system is LLOONNNGGG winded, and everyone seems to want a cut of the deal. The language (for us) is challenging, but given all that, we are VERY happy here.Rent first to see if it suits you and you suit it !!Good luck,S
