I am sorry if this has been covered before, but just looking for a brief idea. I understand that the process of obtaining an Italian passport can be arduous.
We are happy to let people pass through our garden we take it as a compliment and have even made some new friends this way.
Just to clarify if someone had used your garden to access another area any time in the last 20 years they can continue to do so?
Does this mean I can pass through the grounds of one of the beautiful and empty villas on the edge of Lake maggiore and if unchallenged continue to do so?
I take on board Alan h previous comment. It looks like from my post that we are intending to stop at my usual coffee stop.... Not this time I will just have to wave as we go past to our 5 day quarantine and maybe pop back after that.
I usually take the ferry as its a bit more economical with a trailer and top box + on the return it's a welcome 2 hour sleep.
On the way down I usually go via mulhouse, colmar gottard tunnel route.
The trick for me is timing it so we arrive at the top of Lake maggiore early morning and always stop for a lake side coffee at a tiny bar beside the ferry stop in baveno.
Hi just wanted to add that Conro gave me some very valuable help and info awhile ago regarding my septic system on my Piedmonte property. Very detailed correct and precise.
Thanks for that. I am planning to complete a customs declaration ( printed off from the post office Web) which just lists items and values basically, attach receipts, all second hand and very low value plus copies of house deeds etc in Italy. Hopefully that will work.
No sausage or bacon rolls in the lunch box!
Re traveling over we are an orange list country to France so require copies of double vaccines and provide negative test result but they will accept the much cheaper test so not too bad.
Personally it seems like a small price to pay to get over there for the summer.
We have recently received some photos of our lemon trees and alas they appear very dead. I understand they had a very severe frost in spring and some periods of intense cold over the winter that seems to have been too much for the trees.
I am planning to get over in July so will inspect carefully for any signs of growth but......
I hope you had more luck you are further south so hopefully slightly milder winter.

Hi.
Would you be able to clarify how a right of way is established ie is it used for 1 year without being restricted or blocked?
We are in Piemonte up near Alagna.
Good luck with your situation.

I can't help but I am following with interest as we have a property that borders a river and a stream, both with loverly swimming beach areas.
Our property was empty for many years and locals still cross our garden to access these areas.
We have a large (75kg) dog that looks fierce and barks so we regularly have to rescue the visitors.
I really don't mind but it would be good to know where I actually stand.
How have they blocked you access?
Yes definitely. We have already called in some favours from local friends who are dropping in groceries and wine to keep us going for the 5 days.
No hardship sitting in the garden by the stream for 5 days.... Oh and getting on with the massive list of works that need to be done on the property.

Counting the days.

We are just between Varallo and Alagna.
Just curious about the pontarlier route. Why do you prefer that to the Mulhouse, basle way?
Where do you cross into Italy.
Just daydreaming of the day we can go.
