I am fast approaching the need to renew my driving licence as it is due to expire this mid year.
I have a regular sum of money sent over from the UK every month. This month however the money left my UK account and has yet to arrive here in Italy (Banca della Marche).
I saw this comment from a Californian news item............Emerging Cuisines from Emerging Markets - As the world grows smaller, the selection of cuisines grows larger and guests’ palettes are begging to try new flavours.
It will take a quite monumental event to prise us from our wonderful life and friends here. BUT,................. what/where is the future for the younger generation here ?
Being a full time resident here in Italy, we are having a month or so on holiday in another EU country (not in the UK, our country of origin). Does anybody know what 'travel' related health cover are we 'entitled' to ?
I'm sure someone here will advise (hopefully)............I have some 30/40 false acacia trees (the ones with the spikes - ouch !), they have grown in the last 5 years to some 15/20metres high.

I'll have a think.......but............there is NO WAY that you'd pay tax twice. You need to speak with a professional. There are some questions re the amount of time that your parents spend in the UK, S

I'd never dreamt of that (and with the greatest respect I also couldn't/wouldn't be bothered), but well done you. This January 30th (2011), on my way to the UK, I just went through the 'border' pulled over, and paid my (30-ish euros) and went on my way. I THOUGHT that my current sticker was valid until December 31st 2011, but I'm hearing that it could be valid until the END of January 2012. I have a particular interest in the actual dates as I am going to Bavaria for Christmas and New year this year so therefore I was thinking that I would be able to go via Switzerland on the way THERE (Dec 6th ish), but my vignette would NOT be valid on the way BACK (Jan 6th ish) ? S
You get great info about the flight etc of each plane ! S
Hi Penny, I can FULLY understand your comments and would agree with pretty much everything you have said; We are retired (very early!) and generally protected from rising prices, but we both cannot understand how people who HAVE to work can manage here in Le Marche. Having said that, I'm not sure that the Ligurian coast will be any cheaper ? (We LOVE Santa Margherita Ligure by the way ).............. Good Luck, S

I assume the one that we have (should we choose to use it) still 'works'? S
One of our favourite pastimes is having breakfast (or lunch), (or drinks !) by the pool and watching the swallows dipping and diving ( I assume for a drink ?) into the pool. A sight to behold indeed ! They're VERY good and almost acrobatic flyers(or is it fliers ?) aren't they ? S And by the way..........I know this was mentioned earlier..............the fireflies are performing VERY well in the evening at the mo !!
