I have an Australian Client for whom I refurbished their house on Lake Como, now they are living in Italy for over 12 months, and in their Pension years.
Hello all, I am writing asking the forum for help on behalf of an Australian client for whom we are refurbishing her house in Italy. The Australian lady bought the house to refurbish wanting to take up Italian citizenship.
Hi all I have a very basic question on using this forum: How do I send a Personal Message to someone? It would seem if I hit "reply" and send what would appear to be a message which only to recipient would see, is instead visible by the whole foru
Hi Stef, If you mean a book written by an Ex - Pat about life in Italy Tim Parks has written a number which come to mind, such as "a season with Verona"...."an Italian Education".....and more recently "Italian Ways: On and Off the Rails from Milan to Palermo". However if you mean as an Ex- pat reading any book about Italian life I would say the Neopolitan series by Elena Ferrante
Hi Katie, there is a magazine on sale in every newsagent called Quattro Ruote which has become the national standard guide in pricing new and second hand cars (priced according to year)- with all the different models etc. also detailing fuel consumption, safety and other performance related statistics. They probably have for sale adverts on their website also, but the main use is to give you well informed and impartial guidance on the second hand price.
Hi Yasmin, surely you can ask the Geometra to break down his/her services to corrsponding prices, i.e. so much for drawing up the plans, so much for submitting the plans, so much for overseeing the works on site etc, so as you can pick and chose which service if any you want
Hello Ugo, I am sorry if you do not like it, and yes indeed my american Estate Agent friend was quite annoyed also at having a lawyer (Clemente) who seems to be acting also as an Estate Agent which is apparently contrary to Italian Law, but he did say that the Rent to Buy was a good thing for foreign buyers
Hi I have an american friend living in Italy for a long time, and earlier this year he managed to pass the Estate Agent exam here to be qualified in Italy....anyway I was chatting to him about other stuff, and he mentioned that this new Rent to Buy scheme that is according to him a real game changer for the Italian Real Estate that is sold to / bought by non-Italians, seeing as a mortgage from an Italian bank for a non-Italian is now a no hoper.I honestly know nothing about it other than it is apparently a serious solid way of financing the selling / buying of Real Estate in Italy. It does not really favour the seller, other than enabling him/her to sell and get monthly installments.I will look up the name of the person promoting it and pass it on to you, and let you judge for yourself
http://www.renttobuyhousesinitaly.com/who-we-are/ Alessandro Clemente seems to be the man behind promoting it - have you already had contact with him? If you want I can put you in touch with my american friend who may be more impartial

Hello Gina I am a UK architect, and have been based in Milan for the a last 15 years. We carry out residential refurbishment projects - mainly near the northern Lakes or Monferrato, I am therefore not exactly local to Lucca, and I do not think that running the site works would be very feasible, however there are many phases prior to site that I could offer a useful service. It would be best to discuss it in more detail to understand your requirements. If you would like to contact me via info@rinovaprojects.com we could explore possible options. All the best Conor
